NOF’s Microfinance Scheme (Phase One)

Phase One of the Ngozi Oditah Foundation’s Micro-Finance Scheme took place in Ibusa in July 2016.

We had our mandatory seminar to educate the applicants on Budgetting and Planning, Savings and Investment, Financial Intelligence and Good Customer Relations.

The Seminar took place at the Umejei Primary & Secondary School, Ibusa, Delta State. Resource persons were drawn from the banking sector and the market.

We have made seminar an integral part of our microfinance schemes because we believe that one of the major problems of the poor is not essentially the lack of funds, but lack of business acumen with which to manage resources when given.

More than eighty (80) women applied for the scheme, out of which thirty one (31) were selected. Nineteen (19) of them were from Ibusa, while the remaining came from other part of the country.
